Biography

I gew up in Salt lake City. I graduated from BYU with a BA in Communications in 1985. I later returned to BYU and earned an MS in Geography in 1996. In 2004, I earned a Ph.D in Geography from the University of Hawaii.

Research Interests

I have research interests in environmental geography and biogeography. I am particularly interested in reasons for species range expansions. My regions of specialty are Utah and Oceania.

Teaching Interests

Introductory physical geography, geography of natural hazards, geography of Utah and geography of climates.
