Biography
Dr. Jeff Jackson joined the BYU faculty in 2023. His previous academic appointments include Virginia Tech and Alliant International University.
As a researcher-practitioner, his research interests include psychotherapy intervention effectiveness (e.g., brief strategic systemic therapy, couple therapy, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder), protective and risk factors of couple relationship quality and stability, ambiguous loss, and disability. He is the director of the Family Therapy Effectiveness Lab.
He has clinical experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups from all life stages and backgrounds in a wide range of areas. His clinical specializations include couple relationship distress, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, disability, ambiguous loss, singlehood, premarital counseling, adolescents and parent-child relationships, and reactive attachment.
