Biography

Dr. Wikle earned a doctorate in economics from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in public economics and labor economics. Dr. Wikle holds a Masters of Arts degree in economics from the University of Texas. She also holds a Bachelors of Arts degree, summa cum laude, in economics and music from Brigham Young University. Dr. Wikle has taught or assisted various economics courses at four universities.

Research Interests

Dr. Wikle researches investments in children, exploring macro and micro system investments. This includes research on family interactions, parent resource investment in children (causes and consequences), adolescent contact with family members, and contextual factors affecting family interactions. She also researches early childhood education policy, including consequences of policy on family outcomes. Her research uses a range of empirical evaluation techniques and practices.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Wikle teaches graduate and undergraduate Research Methods, Child and Family Policy, and Family Process.
