Biography

Scott Ure is an archaeologist in the department of anthropology. His current research focuses on digital archaeology and the Fremont archaeological culture in the Eastern Great Basin. Scott has worked on various archaeological projects in the American Eastern Great Basin, Midwest, and Southwest, in northern and western Mexico, and in the Middle East. He is involved with excavations at two Fremont archaeological sites in Utah Valley and is developing a mobile data collection application for archaeological field work.

Aerial archaeology and UAS remote sensing using aerial photogrammetry, LiDAR, and thermal imagery

Terrestrial photogrammetry and LiDAR, structured-light scanning, and 3D modelling

Mapping and GIS spatial analysis

Fremont archaeology with an emphasis in ceramics and architecture
