Biography

In addition to his position as an adjunct faculty member, Dr. Waters works as an economic consultant. He worked as an environmental economist for several years in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina where he developed statistical models of damages used in litigation involving environmental contamination. After North Carolina, he worked for over 14 years at LECG in its Washington, D.C. and Salt Lake City offices on matters such as antitrust, intellectual property, breach of contract, wage discrimination, and employment in addition to continuing work in the environmental area. In 2011, he joined Charles River Associates where he continues to work in the above mentioned fields. In his economic consulting work, he has made presentations to the Department of Justice and has given expert trial and/or deposition testimony in federal and state district courts. Dr. Waters also consults for The Nature of Strategic Thinking, a strategy consulting firm, and serves as a member of the board for Empower Mali, a nonprofit organization established to affect change in education, healthcare, clean energy, and clean, accessible water in the West African nation of Mali.
